As you may already be aware, the United States Air Force (“USAF”) is in the final stages of selecting the Main Operating Base 4 for the new KC-46A and Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (“the Joint Base”) is a top five finalist.
It goes without saying how important the Joint Base is to the surrounding communities and the entire state. The 45,000+ jobs that come directly from the Joint Base are crucial to New Jersey’s economy and getting the next round of the KC-46As could feasibly cement the base in New Jersey for the foreseeable future.
Although the USAF makes basing decisions primarily off of tangible military assets, runways, hangars, etc. the quality of life and military friendliness of New Jersey could also play a role in the decision. This is why, attached to this email, is a petition that attests to New Jersey’s commitment to its retired military and Veterans community.
We ask that you read and sign the petition so that we may show the USAF Commanders that New Jersey is the best place to base the KC-46A. Feel free to print and distribute the petition to anyone and everyone that you think would be willing and able to sign it. Once signed you may either scan and email it back to me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or mail it back to:
Office of the Lt. Governor
P.O. Box 001
Trenton, New Jersey 08625
The Lt. Governor will be hosting an upcoming event to raise awareness of the Joint Base’s top five ranking for this mission. Details and an invitation to this event will follow.
Following this event the signed petitions will be sent to the Pentagon and the USAF Command.
