Each November since 2007, participating BURGER KING® Franchises have held a fundraiser benefitting the VFW’s Unmet Needs program. Patrons have been encouraged to donate $1 or more to the Unmet Needs program with the purchase of their meal, which has resulted in more than $2.3 million being raised to date. More on Burger King.

Humana has had a longstanding relationship with the military and is committed to the well-being of all veterans. In 2016, GI Jobs named Humana the top Military Friendly Spouse Employer, and it received “Best of the Best” Recognition from U.S. Veterans Magazine. Humana sponsors several large events across the country to support veterans including the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team (WWAFT) and the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV). Since 2007, Sport Clips has helped U.S. service members connect with their loved ones through their Help A Hero program, benefitting VFW Operation Uplink™ “Free Call Days.” In 2013, Sport Clips expanded Help A Hero’s focus with the addition of the VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” program. Through company and client donations, almost 2 million dollars have been contributed to the programs and more than 2 million calls and over 130 scholarships have been made possible – and counting! STUDENT VETERANS OF AMERICA (SVA)
Since Student Veterans of America’s (SVA) founding in 2008, over one million veterans have returned home to pursue a post-secondary degree or certificate using VA education benefits. To meet this need, SVA’s presence at the local and national levels has grown to include over 1,100 chapter affiliates, numerous private and nonprofit partners, and most importantly, an expanding list of impactful programs and services for veterans. These programs support all branches of the military, are provided at no cost to the recipients and require no Veterans of Foreign Wars affiliation. The VFW National Home for Children was founded in 1925 as a place where the families left behind by war — mothers and children, brothers and sisters — could remain together, keeping the family circle intact even when their service member didn’t come home. More on VFW National Home.
MILITARY ORDER OF THE COOTIE
Founded in 1920, Military Order of the Cootie of the United States (MOC) is a veterans service organization whose membership is comprised of the officers and leadership of the VFW. Membership in the MOC is recognition of outstanding service to the VFW and its programs. The Cooties have provided social and entertainment programs to members of the VFW as an Ancillary unit within the organization. More on the MOC.
